Sally as an Artist's Model

Sallie's new owner Linda Harris is a talented fine artists and also gives lessons. She reports, "Sallie attends our studio painting classes, and I have included a foto here that I think you will enjoy, Sallie as artist's model; she took to our model David right away. Soon after I shot the pic she got up and tried to crawl into David's lap, and that's when I shooed her off the model's stand. She spends class next to me and my easel, or following me about. She has been my shadow every since she arrived, pretty much, and we have fun together.

Stonepine Jaded

Introducing Stonepine Jaded, E.D., (Ch. Heatherhill No Stone Unturned x Ch. Heatherhill Jada De Ville)

ED and PJ

I don't know what it is with the initial names, but these two Stonepine girls took top honors at the 2009 San Mateo Kennel Club dog show in December. Pictured on the left is ED, Stonepine Jaded (Ch. Heatherhill No Stone Unturned x Ch. Heatherhill Jada De Ville) at her first show. She took a three-point major from the 6-9 month puppy class! Her bestest buddy ASCA Ch. Stonepine Stop N Stare, PJ, owned and handled by Melissa Ruble (Peppered Acres Australian Shepherds) was reserve winner's bitch to the 3-point major! PJ is by Stonepine Makes Cents and out of Ch. Stonepine Sheer Silk.

Sizzle Golfs!

(San Francisco, CA) Jenny and I love our puppy more each day! Sizzle is now about 11 months old and just a delight-same schedule-she goes with me everywhere. Before the rains I started playing golf with her. There is a course in Novato, CA that encourages dogs. She was a delight there. Ran like the wind and came back as soon as I called and stayed till I hit the ball! Nick Scarf

A Gentry Prediction

I predict that all-breed handler extraordinaire Phillip Gault of Stonepine South (Alabama) is going to finish Gentry early this year. Gentry has been a slow maturing dog and certainly has Phillip's number, but is coming on strong in the maturation department. Gentry is out of Ch. Stonepine Shiraz (Rozz) by Ch. It's A Cinch for Gingerbred ( Cinch). Keep your eyes open for this dynamic young duo.

Performance/Show Homes Sought

I am pleased to announce that I have two upcoming litters (why oh why do they cycle at the same time? arrgghhh). I generally place my pups in high-quality pet homes, but am interested in arranging for some of the pups from these two litters to reside in performance homes. This also includes Junior homes. If you are at all interested in a great pet AND performance Aussie, please contact me.

Ch. Stonepine Silk (Ch. Heatherhill Rebel Justice x ch. Heatherhill Tyra Banks) has been bred to Ch. Heatherhill No Stone Unturned (Ch. Taycins Just A Stones Throw x Ch. Heatherhill Taboo. This litter is expected around the middle of March 2010 and all colors are possible.

China Retires!

Stonepine Shanghai (China) has been in the spotlight these past years with her very talented junior handler, Katelyn Scott (Spring Fever Australian Shepherds) of Lehi, UT. China has traveled the country with Katelyn, posting major wins all over the nation, including Westminster. With all of this terrific experience and exposure Katelyn has grown incredibly as a handler and China...well China is rather bored with the whole deal at this point and has earned a cushy retirement job (i.e., couch potato). My utmost thanks and admiration to the Scott you all; thanks for taking such incredible care of this fun little girl! Continued success.

From Christine and David Wu and Otis!

Hi Nannette and Happy New Year! Otis is the demo dog for Thank Dog! Boot Camp (San Francisco, CA). Check out the recent article: ( He is the demo obedience dog for this owner + dog boot camp. The owners work out and the dog does obedience exercises. You can see him in the pic in the foreground (red merle). He goes out with my assistant 5 days a week and works out with her. And he is a VERY, VERY happy boy doing it and he LOVES my assistant Frances. I'm too pregnant to move around at his speed right now so we've outsourced some help for the dogs to keep them on their daily exercise program.
